Cape Town - Soccer and Sports Project

The program runs daily – Monday to Friday.  We started this project to give something back to South Africa.  We saw the Great need for the children to partake in extra Mural activities, to keep them away from substance abuse and bad habits.  Many of the children have been left alone to care for themselves, or have been looked after by members of the community.  These children are from very poor backgrounds.  Some of the children are orphaned and don't have parents.  We really need your help with teaching them sports such as soccer, netball and Basketball. We ask that you bring your best sports skill and come and teach the children.  We have a great need for volunteers to help with assisting in teaching sport and we would love to welcome you. This project runs all year round except for school holiday dates: 7th December- 6th January 2018, 29th March- 9th April, 23rd June - 16th July, 29th Sept- 8th October, 13th December - 15th January 2019.

 

 

Volunteer programs Begin every Monday of the Month.  Volunteers can choose from 1 week to 12 weeks (long term discounts are available) You will get a 90 day visa free of charge when you enter Cape town airport on arrival. Our Prices below include airport pickup on a Monday only, Airport Drop off on a Monday only, Accommodation, Free wi-fi at the house, staff assistance, use of equipment and a brief Orientation.  Prices exclude flights, travel insurance and visas.

(These prices include a FREE Dinner on the night of arrival to meet the rest of the team on arrival).

Prices exclude the Registration Fee of $270 / £203 (a once off registration fee). This fee reserves your place with us, and its does not expire once you have paid it (we will send you proof of payment received as soon as we receive your registration fee). A percentage of these fees are donated as charity towards the community.

What do your fees pay for?

• Registration Fee – Web-design Costs, Program marketing costs, administration costs, Volunteer in Sa fund, and communication costs with volunteers. 
• Volunteer Program Fee – Airport pick up/ Drop off, program supervision, Accommodation in a Lovely volunteer house, free wi-fi, Fresh bedding, a lovely fully equipped house, free welcome dinner, hot water, a cleaner, in-country administration costs and staff fees. 

What additional costs will you have?

• Visa (you will get a 3 month visa on entry to South Africa free of Charge if you hold a : UK, USA, OR EUROPE PASSPORT), flights.
• Travel Hospital insurance (mandatory)
• All volunteers should visit either their personal physician or a travel health clinic 4-8 weeks before departure
• Mobile phone / internet charges. A variety of mobile network carriers provide good coverage for both mobile phones as well as internet facilities. It is normally more cost effective to locally purchase pay-as-you-go air-time and data bundles compared to roaming options. 
• Spending money for essentials, souvenirs, etc
