Zanzibar Island Clinical and Medical Project
Do you want to work with our Local Hospitals and mobile clinics, whilst staying on one of the most beautiful Coast-lines in Tropical Africa?
“Work with Zanzibar African Doctors whilst visiting one of the Most beautiful tropical Islands in the world”.
This project runs Monday to Friday (with weekends free to explore the island). This project is designed for Doctors and Nurses, as well as trainee student doctors and Nurses. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to help out at the Local Hospitals and mobile clinics in the area. You will be welcomed by the local people and become a part of the Zanzibar community. You will get to experience the Joy of living in beautiful Zanzibar, and experience the joys of sharing the culture and learning the cultural ways with the local people. Volunteers help assist the local doctors and nurses, helping them in improve the health services in the area whilst sharing great experiences with each other.
As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Beautiful Island, whilst helping the poorer villages. You will have the opportunity to work with the Local Doctors and nurses and People in the area, whilst enjoying the Tropical Island and Spectacular Coastline of the Zanzibar Island. You will also have the opportunity to Join our Zanzibar International Church every Sunday. (The core of the Ministry).
FEES DUE 1 MONTH BEFORE ARRIVAL:

Prices exclude flights (Please try and book your flight to arrive on any Monday or Tuesday of the Month), Travel insurance and visas (you will need to pay $100-$200 for a 1-3 months visa on arrival at the airport). You can purchase the visa on arrival, which makes it much easier than having to apply for the visa at home. Our team leader will collect you on arrival at the Airport and take you back to the airport at the end of your stay. Please budget an extra $50 for food per week. Our friendly staff will take you to the shop once week to buy food. Please click on the Yellow sign up link above to sign up with us.
What do your fees pay for?
• Registration Fee OF $260 (Once off fee to reserve your place with us) – Web-design Costs, Program marketing costs, administration costs, Volunteer in Sa fund, food fund feeding the less privileged people and communication costs with volunteers.
• Volunteer Program Fee as per the above (is due 1 month before arrival) – Basic orientation, staff costs to supervise, accommodation in an African Style Neat Accommodation, in-country administration costs, pick up and drop off (At airport on arrival and departure), shuttle to buy food weekly, shuttle to Church once a week.
There is free wi-fi at restaurants close to our volunteer house. You can also purchase a sim card and wi-fi for your mobile phone on arrival.

What additional costs will you have?
The Volunteer must provide for the following:
· Visa and volunteer permit (you will get a 1-3 month visa on entry to Tanzania – Zanzibar at only $100-$200, if you hold a : UK, USA, Australian OR EUROPE PASSPORT).
· All volunteers should visit either their personal physician or a travel health clinic 4-8 weeks before departure. (Please ask your physician which injections they recommend you have). Most our volunteers get a Hepatitis B, Rabies, Hepatitis A and Typhoid injection before departure from their country. There is malaria in Zanzibar, so please make sure you get malaria tablets.
· Mobile phone/ internet charges. A variety of mobile network carriers provide good coverage for both mobile phones as well as internet facilities. It is normally more cost effective to locally purchase pay-as-you-go air-time and data bundles compared to roaming options. Please ask your service provider to check if your mobile phone will work in Zanzibar, else you can purchase a phone locally. Our leaders will take you to buy a phone and sim card and internet access on arrival. Please inform the leader that you would like Internet access as well and airtime.
