PROJECT LOCATION

This project is based in a Beautiful un-touched Coastal Area in a Lovely Rural village in the Transkei. The Wild Coast, Coffee bay is situated in the Eastern Cape South Africa. You will get to meet the real Xhosa Tribes and experience Rural Africa. Our accommodation is situated at the Ocean View hotel on Coffee bay beach, making it a great holiday feeling whilst volunteering and reaching out to many less privileged people in need.

The Wild Coast has poor infrastructure, struggling schools and a neglected healthcare system. However, our Project has a diverse and growing community of committed and passionate individuals who are striving to make a positive impact in the area.

The village is based around the coastal Beach, situated in a beautiful tropical setting, and is a 1.5 hour hike (or 15 minutes drive) from the famous Hole in the Wall (this is an amazing landscape to see).

There is no shortage of activities in this Adventure paradise. You can hike to the waterfalls, surf, Go fishing and enjoy some Great beaches. The ocean is warm and life in Coffee bay is bliss.  The hole in the wall is also Close by, this is a Great place to relax at during your spare time.

You are bound to have a Great time enjoying these Activities on your weekends off, whilst living in a Tropical atmosphere. Transkei, Coffee bay is one of the most Tropical areas in South Africa (yet it’s not too humid).

We are currently planting a Missions Camp that will impact the community with teams coming to impact the community at large.  The vision of the Missions camp is to impact the local people bringing them into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. We aim to impact the less privileged people at large in the area through building relationships with the local Community.

Here is a video on How the organisation started, http://www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk/news/82-about-volunteer-in-south-africa.htmlwhen Mandy Buchan (weschta), saw a great need to do something about the Poverty in South Africa. She then decided to teach children and Youth Surfing and Sports Development Programs in Muizenberg, Cape town (keeping them away from substance abuse and instead giving them a focus). Mandy Says: ‘Education is key in South Africa, especially for the children living in the less privileged areas, this is why we launched www.volunteerinsouthafrica.co.uk to better the education in South Africa. We look forward to having you join in on our Vision at the organization.
